The historical house located at 9, Mazniashvili St. was built at the end of the 19th century by the order of Barbara Cholokashvili-Baratashvili. Barbara Baratashvili was a public figure, a member of the literacy society and a very famous lady. Barbara Baratashvili even visited Emperor Alexander. It was the emperor who named her "Prelest Babale"(Pretty Babale). The residential house built in the pseudo-Moorish architectural style was a real center of culture at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The festive meetings held here were attended not only by representatives of the Georgian intelligentsia, but also by guests arriving in Georgia. Queen Margaret II of Denmark is particularly noteworthy among them.
