Shota Rustaveli Ave

Information in details

The six-story residential building located at 1, Rustaveli Ave. was built in 1939 by architects S. Kubaneishvili, A. Kurdiani, and M. Melia's project. The large-scale building of the pseudo-classical style of "Stalin architecture" covers the entire quarter and with its monumental forms, volume and artistic-architectural form creates a clear accent in the existing development and significantly defines its character. The first floor of the building has a large rusted plinth, which is continued by intensive rows of windows and balconies of the upper floors with decor motifs characteristic of classicist architecture and a light golden tone rusted facade. The entire perimeter of the building is surrounded by a light attic floor separated from the main mass with a powerful love garden. The viewing corner towards the building avenue is a large oval, which is decorated with a giant column and open balconies. The building standing at the intersection of streets, which is equally visible from all sides, plays an important urban planning role.
