Information in details
95, D. Agmashenebeli Ave. A two-story building dating from 1904, built on an Art Nouveau architectural style, with a richly decorated main facade on the side of the avenue, has a festive look (if we do not count the first one, which was changed and remodeled by later interventions). The facade decoration is concentrated around the rectangular doors and windows of the second floor. The plastic sculpture of the plant motif characteristic of the modern Art Nouveau style can be read even more clearly on the plane of the plain plastered wall. A flower or a plant selected as a prototype, be it a rose, a lotus-like flower, or others. Thanks to this, the plastic decor is more perceptible and, if you can say so, more resonant; the plastic decoration of the facade seems to "give" together. The facade wall is divided vertically by decorative, artistically processed pilasters, the capitals of which are decorated with stylized masked heads of men. On the facade, the attention is drawn by the asymmetrically arranged bay window on the left and the metal embossed openwork balcony on the right. The building is an interesting example of the art nouveau style in the urban architecture of Tbilisi. Its sophisticated, stylized decor plays an essential role in the avenue forming the artistic face of this passage.
