Davit Agmashenebeli Ave

Information in details

The building located at 49/2, Agmashenebeli Ave. is one of the oldest buildings in the surrounding development, with a long, interesting history. On the plan of 1867, the building is already marked on the corresponding map, from which we understand that the real gymnasium was located here. In 1907, the actual school was moved to the current Kyiv Street, former German Street, and the headquarters of the Caucasian Minesweeper Brigade was located in the old building. It seems that the building has undergone another change, in particular, according to the reconstruction project of 1912, it is clear that the building already belongs to a private person - A. I. Karalov, and the reconstruction project is signed by an engineer - G. Bart. The large block of the two-story building develops in both directions according to the sharp corner of the intersection of Agmashenebeli and Mazniashvili streets, it is "cut" at the intersection and creates a certain architectural-artistic edge. It is a building decorated with classical Renaissance motifs, the main appearance of which is determined by the lively rhythm of the openings placed in the wall planes divided into areas of different widths by pilasters. The building, from the historical and architectural-artistic point of view, is one of those important buildings, the combination of which determines the highly artistic, diverse look of Davit Agmashenebeli Avenue.
